California State University Emeritus & Retired Faculty & Staff Association

A Brief History of the Reporter

The first issue of the Reporter was published in 1986 by the California State University Association of Emerti Professors, as CSU-ERFSA was originally known. The newsletter has served as a key communication outlet for the organization, keeping retired faculty, staff, and administrators updated and in the know. From the start, the AEP/CSU-ERFSA worked to represent CSU retirees, their rights, and their interests.

From the Reporter's Paper Archives

While issues of the Reporter starting in 2006 have been available in PDF on the Reporter's Archive and main pages, older issues of this important CSU-ERFSA resource are stored in paper format at CSU, Dominguez Hills, as well as the CSU-ERFSA main office. Office manager Melanie Mamakos scanned a few sample paper issues. In spring 2025, Tom Philo, Archivist/Cataloger at CSU, Dominguez Hills, scanned and sent back issues of the Reporter from 1988-2006, which now are linked on this website's Reporter Archive page.
