CSU-ERFSA Endorses Emon-Moran and Brown in Upcoming CalPERS Board Election

The CSU-ERFSA Executive Committee has endorsed Tiffany Emon-Moran – City of San Bernardino (retired) for Position A and Margaret Brown (incumbent) – Garden Grove Unified School District (retired) for Position B in the upcoming CalPERS Board of Administration election.

2021 Member-at-Large Election

Eligible active and retired CalPERS members have an opportunity this year to elect two representatives for the CalPERS Board of Administration. The terms of incumbents David Miller and Margaret Brown expires on January 15, 2022. The new terms of office begins January 16, 2022 and runs through January 15, 2026.

Who's Eligible to Vote?

  • CalPERS members active as of July 1, 2021.
  • Retired CalPERS members (excluding survivors and beneficiaries) whose effective date of retirement is on or before July 1, 2021.

Cast Your Ballot by September 27, 2021

A ballot package with instructions on how to vote will be mailed to eligible voters on August 27, 2021. Ensure your mailing address is current so you receive your ballot. The voting period is August 27 through September 27. Your vote must be received by mail, telephone, or online by 11:59 p.m. PST on September 27, or it won't be counted.

..... Emon-Moran retired from the San Bernardino Police Department in 2017 as a detective assigned to financial crimes. She earned her Masters Degree in Public Administration and has a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is working on an additional degree in accounting and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. .....Margaret Brown was elected to the CalPERS Board by all members in 2017. Known as the “CalPERS Watchdog” she has been instrumental in ensuring that CalPERS’ business is conducted in an open, transparent, and impartial manner. 

Margaret is a seasoned financial manager and a strong force on the Board because she studies the issues carefully, listens attentively to retiree concerns, creates opportunities needed debate, holds CalPERS staff accountable, and supports prudent investment strategies to grow the fund.
